'Benfica Lisbon clinched a fair victory against Liverpool, in the CL 1/8 finals, with a Luisão's header, instead of a Luisão's famous elbow-header. Rafa Benitez was either drunk, or made a fortune betting for the underdog team, (at European level) because the cattenaccio tactics proved to be completely ineffective and pointless, specially because Gerard and Cisse(!?!) were on the bench. The second leg will be tough. For the Benfica supporters, this was the second good news on the same day, after João Ferreira (himself a Benfica fanatic) was appointed by Liga de Clubes to referee the match between 1st place FC Porto and Benfica.'

Noticia antes do jogo na Luz:
'Holders Liverpool will face ancient European champions Benfica Lisbon in the CL 1/8 finals. The Portuguese side are considered by its media the 'all-migthy-above-the-law-to-whom-anything-is-permitted-club', but nevertheless, has the record for the highest defeat ever, at a UEFA match, when they lost 7-0 against the underdog team Celta de Vigo.
Curiously, the Benfica Lisbon supporters think their club has a winner aura abroad, instead of the actual pathetic and laughable figure they really are. Specially because the hilarious ridiculousness is enhanced by its title, won with the strong help from APAF, the referees organization, that sponsored their entire season.'
